The Next Life Fibers Workshop,  A Journey out of Complacency

IS SCHEDULED FOR November 7th, 8th and 9th, 2014

 Gypsy Muse Studio will be offering a fiber and mixed media Workshop: Life Fibers, A Journey Out of Complacency : This workshop is a shorter version of our Retreat. Your days will be filled with creating a personal visual art journal themed around the fibers that weave our lives together, this will included the completion of at least 2 mixed media journal pages, learning the art of wet felting, as we make a unique felted cover for our journal.  As we journey down this creative path, we will be learning tips and techniques utilizing collage, fibers, acrylics, watercolors, pan pastels, neo colors, vintage and natural ephemera and more; to start us on our path to creating other pages in these special journals created during the Life Fibers Workshop.
The workshop will be held at Gypsy Muse Studio, 106 East Texas Street, Grapevine, Texas, it will begin at 9:00am on Friday, November 7th, Saturday November 8th and Sunday November 9th and end at 4:30pm on the 7th and 8th and at 1:00pm on the 9th.  A sack Lunch will be provided on the 7th and 8th.

Life Fiber a Creative Art Journey Workshop





Our Spring Life Fiber Art Retreat is taking a new direction, due to some difficulties in securing a place in the country to hold the retreat, with spring break and all, we are moving Life Fibers to Gypsy Muse Studio in Grapevine.

Introducing:

Life Fiber, a Creative Art Journey Workshop

March 21, 22 and 23 2014


Facilitated by “Twin Sisters” Sharen Chatterton, acrylic, watercolor and mixed media artist and Karen Rester, fiber, mixed media artist
Come with us on a creative journey of Art. As we travel down this creative path you will learn the art of paper marbling, wet felting, as well as a book binding technique to create a visual art journal. The workshop will include making a fiber cover for the visual journal, that we will create from our marbled papers and 140lb watercolor paper. We will be creating backgrounds on pages within the journal and we will also complete an opening page and a two-page art journal spread using mixed media techniques to get you started in your handmade visual journal.
The workshop will be held at Gypsy Muse Studio, 106 East Texas Street, Grapevine, Texas, it will begin at 9:00am on Friday, March 21st, Saturday March 22nd and Sunday March 23rd and end at 5:30pm on the 21st and 22nd and at 1:00pm on the 23rd.  A sack Lunch will be provided on the 21st and 22nd.
Come join us at this two and a half day workshop filled with creativity and life!
We suggest that you reserve early, as this workshop will fill up quickly. The price for the workshop and all supplies will be $365.00. A deposit of $165.00 will hold your space.  The balance must be paid by March 1st 2014 in the amount of $200.00.

Sharen Chatterton at Gypsy Muse Studio and Karen Rester at Luna Azul Studio are excited to be teaching our Art Retreat "Life Fibers, a Creative Journey out of Complacency".
This is a three night, two and a half day Women's Retreat in the Country. My twin sister, Sharen and I are busy getting everything together to welcome our guest for this fiber and mixed media visual art journaling retreat March 20th thru March 23rd, 2014. This retreat will take us each on a creative journey to uncover the fibers that weave through our lives. Your days and evenings will be filled with creating a personal visual art journal themed around the fibers that weave our lives together, this will include the completion of at least four mixed media journal pages, learning the art of wet felting, as we make a unique felted cover for our journal. This will be a two and a half day retreat you will not want to miss, no experience necessary, just a creative heart and a need to express your creativity. Come join us in the country as we get creative.

5th Annual Funky Finds Spring Fling

On March 9 & 10, I will be participating in the 5th Annual FUNKY FINDS Spring Fling! This will be the eighth indie art & craft show Funky Finds has hosted in Fort Worth, Texas. The event is free to the public and is family AND pet-friendly. With over 120 artists, crafters & designers participating, there is certainly something for everyone!
